ChippyKit is a guide, not an authority. Its calculators and reference tables give indicative figures to help you work faster — they are not engineering advice, not a certification, and not a substitute for the current Australian Standards, the National Construction Code, manufacturer specifications, or a qualified engineer or building surveyor where one is required.
Always verify a figure before you cut, order, pour or build to it. You remain responsible for the work you do.
ChippyKit is operated by MB3 Carpentry & Maintenance, an Australian sole trader (ABN 11 886 717 740). In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean MB3 Carpentry & Maintenance, and "you" means the person using ChippyKit.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use ChippyKit.
ChippyKit is a job-site tool for carpenters, builders and related trades. It provides calculators, indicative reference tables, and a way to record jobs and produce quotes and invoices.
It is not:
We are not your engineer, surveyor, certifier or accountant, and using ChippyKit does not create a professional relationship of that kind between us.
Every figure ChippyKit produces is indicative. Calculators work from the inputs you give them and from simplified assumptions — typically standard domestic loading, common material grades and ordinary conditions. Your job may differ in ways the app has no way of knowing: wind classification, load width, soil conditions, timber grade and seasoning, exposure, building class, and the specific products you're using.
Before relying on any figure, you must check it against the current standard, code and manufacturer specification that apply to your work, and obtain professional sign-off where it's required. The app displays notes to this effect alongside its results; those notes are part of these terms.
If a figure looks wrong, treat it as wrong until you've checked it. We'd also appreciate hearing about it.
Where ChippyKit refers to an Australian Standard, the National Construction Code, or a manufacturer's published data, it does so by reference. We name the source and, where we can, link you to it. We do not reproduce those documents, and referring to them does not imply that their publishers endorse, review or are associated with ChippyKit.
Standards and codes are revised. A figure that was current when we published it may not be current when you read it. Checking which version applies to your work is your responsibility.
You need an account to use ChippyKit. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and erases your jobs, quotes, invoices, templates and profile details. It does not cancel a subscription — see below.
ChippyKit offers free features and a paid Pro tier. New accounts include a 7-day free trial of Pro.
Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription. The price, billing period and renewal terms are shown before you buy, and the amount charged is the amount your store displays at the time of purchase.
We may change our prices. If we do, the change applies to renewals after we've told you, not retrospectively.
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own policies. We can't process those refunds ourselves, though we're happy to help you raise one.
For purchases made on this website, contact us and we'll deal with it fairly.
None of this affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply regardless of where you bought.
Please don't:
We may suspend or close an account that's being used this way.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. Where we're permitted to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
Jobs, quotes and invoices you create are stored on your own device. Keep your own records — we can't recover data from a device we never held.
ChippyKit, its name, design and the way its content is compiled and presented belong to us. Your subscription buys you the right to use the app, not to reproduce or resell it.
The jobs, quotes, invoices and business details you enter remain yours.
We may update these terms as ChippyKit changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and we'll tell you in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use ChippyKit after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If there's a dispute we can't sort out between us, it goes to the courts of Victoria.
Email mb3constructions@gmail.com. We read everything, and we particularly want to hear about a figure that looks wrong.
